you are the one beam of sunlight that cuts through the shade
gently hitting my face as i wake up to a brand new day
you are the blanket that covers my body all night long
fighting off the bitter cold and assuring that i'm warm
you are the thought that fill my mind as I sleep
thinking of you help me stay calm to dream at ease
you are the last little leaf holding on
showing me how to stay strong
you are the eyes that show me a new world of bliss
now I see a new sense in direction after our first kiss
you are the inspiration giving me a new meaning to life
so that I stay safe until I may become your life

ReplyDeleteThis poem is almost like a song. Letting someone know directly what they are to someone by using metaphors that would warm any lover's heart.
